Trade Unions Act, 1926

Objective and Applicability of the Trade Unions Act, 1926 – The Trade Unions Act, 1926 helps in registration of a trade union. A trade union should have at least 10% or 100 workmen, whichever is less. Although for the purpose of registration minimum requirement is 7 persons who are employed in the establishment at the time of such registration.

Cancellation of Membership – Membership of the trade union is liable to be cancelled if it is found out that the membership had been obtained by fraud or misrepresentation. The membership automatically gets cancelled if the number of member falls below 7 at any time.
